Thanks to the Eagle Scouts

I got a phone call yesterday from someone that apparently reads my blog- thanks! The phone call also reminded me of something important to Tanglewood- Eagle Scouts. Not that I really need reminding. There is evidence of Eagle Scout work everywhere I look at Tanglewood. In recent years (and I am sure I am missing some) Eagle Scouts have been responsible for creating trails and bridges on our Personius Woods property, creation of the butterfly garden, making and installing new bluebird boxes, construction of the teaching pond deck, the vernal pond deck, our entrance sign and now a new bridge to the vernal pond and a kiosk for our vernal pond sign. Whew! It is amazing when I look at all of it. I want to make sure that the Scouts and their leaders and parents know how much we appreciate all of their hard work and continued dedication to Tanglewood. If you are reading this blog and haven't been to Tanglewood ever, or it has been awhile, please come and visit and see all the improvements!

Back and Summer's Here!

Well, I haven't posted in forever. Let's see, what have I been up to...? Oh yea, I got married, went on a honeymoon, have been busy with 5 kids, finished a couple of grants at work, stuff like that. My husband mentioned that I hadn't blogged lately, so at least one person missed my rambling.

There has been a flurry of activity at Tanglewood this spring/early summer. We just finished our last school visit yesterday, now we move into summer camp. We have been so lucky with the weather, having had over 4,000 kids through here and no rain-outs- yay!

Lots of animal activity too. A Mom deer with twin babies, the geese and their babies have flown the coop, Tree Swallows are dive-bombing anyone that gets near their nests and I saw a beautiful rattler two days ago. Summer is definitely here.
